Angley Equestrian Team

Hi Everyone,

During half term we ran our show jumping competition at Duckhurst Farm in Staplehurst. This time we ran 10 classes, with easter eggs and rosettes to be won, plus sashes awarded to the highest placed Kent schools.  The day kicked off at 8.45am with our own Tommy Clarke having a go at the 60cm on his lovely pony Mary Poppins, and the morning went smoothly with all classes being hotly contested. Our team consisting of Lucie Levett, Frankie Pullar,  Katy Manford and Amy Hilton did brilliantly, coming 3rd in the 80cm class. Frankie had a particulalry fantastic day on her pony Sammy, winning the 80cm individual class and becoming the Kent School Champion at that height!!

The stewards kept the day going really well, and we finished at 6pm, having seen hundreds of riders from schools all over Kent, and Sussex.  We had excellent assistance from World Challege Students who picked up fallen poles, ran the gate and the car parking, and as ever our own riders and parents did us proud. 

We are always looking for students of any age and ability, who have their own horse and transport, to join the team.   Our next confirmed date is 4th June, though undoubtedly we will do another show jumping, possibly for mini's before then.
