OfSTED 2011
Angley School is celebrating this week after our latest successful OfSTED inspection.
In just 12 months Angley has improved so much that OfSTED has judged that it no longer requires a Notice to Improve and is delivering a satisfactory standard of education. The resulting report highlights the improvements that have been made:
“Improving achievement is explained by better quality teaching. The large majority of students are keen to learn and say their opportunities to do so have improved this year because of the better teaching.”
Students’ behaviour continues to be recognised as good, and care guidance and support of students is seen as a strength of the school.
Although we are delighted with the outcome of the inspection, standards are set to rise further still in the coming year. It is for this reason that Governors have agreed to a proposal that Hayesbrook School; a National Support School and National Teaching School, should sponsor Angley to become an academy.
Martin Garner, Angley’s Chair of Governors commented: “Currently, this is just a proposal and there will be a full consultation process in due course. However, gaining academy status should spearhead a new phase in Angley’s development and secure high-quality education provision for current and future generations of pupils.”
A copy of the inspection report will be posted home to all families during week ending 14 October 2011. Click on the Home Page to download the report or go to the OfSTED website.
